Example of Rules & Guidelines for Competition
1. The competition is in two distinct parts. The first part is the first half of the semester. The second part is for the second half of the semester.
2. Each class is divided into 3-4 teams with 3-4 people on a team.
3. Each team competes against the opposing teams in their class for the top position in points.
4. The members of the final winning team, or teams for each class’ competition is automatically awarded 100 points on their midterm exam for the first competition. Also, those students do not have to attend class on exam day.
5. When we begin the second part of the competition begins in the second half of the semester, all accumulated points will be zeroed out since this is a new competition.
6. It is unlikely, but possible, that teams may tie for first place. Any teams that tie for first within a class will enjoy the rewards of winning first place.
7. Unless there is problem, teams will remain the same in the second part of the competition.
